What’s Happening Now – May 2013
Vegetation over the state of Arizona has dried out substantially with high winds and unseasonably warm temperatures. The first Gambel’s quail chicks started showing up the first of April over most of the central part of the state. Even though the ground cover is dry, there is a lot of it, so that will make for some extra cover for the little ones to escape in.
An added note: Was looking over more quail information recently and read some interesting research that was done back in the early 20th century. You can find that at www.azquailtoday.com > General Quail Info > Life History, Gambel’s Quail; Life History, Scaled Quail.
