Exploring Quail Hunting in Arizona: Insights from Biologist, Wade Zarlingo

Howdy there, AZ Quail friends,

I hope this post finds you well and ready for another exciting adventure in the world of quail hunting! We’re thrilled to announce the release of our latest podcast episode, where we delve deep into the heart of Quail Hunting in Arizona. And let me tell you, it’s a conversation you won’t want to miss!

In this episode, we have the honor of chatting with Wade Zarlingo, a retired biologist from Arizona Game and Fish with an unparalleled passion for quail and the outdoors. Born and raised in quail country, Wade’s expertise is rooted in over 30 years of experience at AZGFC. Throughout his career, he’s been at the forefront of Land Owner Relations programs, working closely with Arizona ranchers to enhance habitat, conserve water, restore brush, and rehabilitate grasslands. Additionally, Wade has served as the Small Game Program manager for the department, bringing a wealth of knowledge and insights to the table.

During our conversation with Wade, he shares captivating stories from his hunting adventures, provides valuable insights into bird numbers, reflects on his extensive work experience, and engages in discussions on a wide range of topics, from the potential shortening of the Mearns season to the outlook for quail in Arizona and beyond. (Please note: In the episode, I mistakenly mentioned that the Mearns Quail limit was unlimited on the San Carlos; I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.)

If you’re enjoying the content we’re sharing and finding value in our discussions, we encourage you to spread the word to fellow enthusiasts. Your support and word-of-mouth recommendations mean the world to us and help us continue producing free educational content for the community.
