What’s Happening Now – April 2013
All across the central and east-central areas of the state, ocotillos are leafed out and green, and the desert bloom is occurring. Another “okay” rain occurred in the first week of April and all of that country is looking good for a hatch. A repeat of the last couple years is taking place in the southeast – it’s dry and very little of the rain that fell in the central part of the state reached the south or southeast. As far as Gambel’s quail goes, they are completely paired and looking pretty good as far as a hatch goes – at least according to my observations. Stay tuned.
